Interlochen Arts Camp is a world-renowned summer arts program where young artists hone their talents, grow as individuals, and flourish creatively. From across the nation and around the world, artistic students ages 8-18 convene at Interlochen to expand their skills in:

While students spend most of their days in classes and rehearsals, they still find plenty of time for fun and friendship. They enjoy all the fun traditions of summer camp like swimming, s’mores, and cabin games, as well as traditions unique to Interlochen Arts Camp like ice cream at Melody Freeze, the excitement of First Gathering, the joy of arts disciplines performing together in Collage, and more. Camp Facilities
Interlochen Center for the Arts has over 400 buildings, facilities, and venues that dot our 1,200-acre campus. Nearly 150 cabins are on campus, and as an Interlochen student, you will bunk with 10-18 other young artists in your age division, along with one to two camp counselors. Each cabin offers twin bunk beds, shelving units, private toilets, and sinks.

Camp FAQs
- Our programs are one, two, three, four, and six weeks long, so dates vary by program. For summer 2024, most programs happen between June 23 and August 4, although the one-week "Intensive" programs run June 15-21.
- Interlochen is located in the northwest corner of Michigan's lower peninsula, near Traverse City. By car, we are about four hours from Detroit, and six hours from Chicago.
- Programs that do not require an audition or portfolio enroll on a rolling basis. The priority application date for programs that do require an audition or portfolio is Jan. 15. We will continue to welcome applications after Jan. 15 as space permits. Early application is encouraged.
- Audition and portfolio requirements vary by program. Some programs do not require an audition or portfolio. Consult the program page for more details on whether an audition or portfolio is required. Audition and portfolio materials can be submitted online.
- Tuition varies depending on program. The indicated cost covers room and board, classes, group instruction, all recreational facilities and admission to faculty and student performances. Tuition also covers private lessons that are required as part of an arts program.
