Summer Camp is looking for cooks who are responsible for working collaboratively with other cooks to oversee and participate in the preparation of food items in accordance with recipes and standards while maintaining a neat, clean and safe work environment. Duties of this position include handling and preparing food in accordance with sanitary regulations, controlling food and inventory costs, and supervising the various shifts and duties of other food service staff.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Assist in the daily operations of the camp’s food service.
? Prepare and cook food as the menu indicates utilizing grilling, boiling, broiling, roasting of meat, poultry, vegetables, salads, soups, and gravies.
? Prepare foods including washing and peeling.
? Bake breads, pastries, muffins, etc.
? Set up food, supplies, and utensils for dining hall distribution.
? Store food and leftovers at proper temperature.
Assist in routine sanitation of the kitchen and related equipment.
? Clean and maintain all food-preparation and storage areas.
? Supervise the cleaning of prep, serving, and dining hall dishes.
? Reduce waste, reuse items, and recycle as indicated through the camp’s procedures.
Organized and detailed to complete services in professional manner
Positive attitude, hardworking and organized individual to work safely independently or as part of a team.
Ability to walk, stand, and bend during the assigned shift.
Ability to lift, stack and maneuver objects that may weigh 30 to 50 pounds.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Institutional, cafeteria or restaurant cooking experience
Experience using commercial appliances such as mixer, conventional and convection ovens, proofer, griddle, etc.
Hourly wage depending on experience and skills. We will consider either full or part time during our seasonal operation from June 11 to August 18, 2017. The camp kitchen is open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., 7 days a week, shifts are 8 hours; 20 to 40 hours a week.

The ideal candidate must be able to handle multiple priorities, have excellent leadership and communication skills, enjoys working with teenagers and young adults.
