Founded in 1957 Elk Creek brings together western riding and work in an authentic ranch experience. Near Yellowstone we are situated in one of the largest wilderness areas in the 48 states. Including ranchers and staff we number 50; we quickly become a small community where everyone is important.

Using Elk Creek Ranch as a base, the Trek takes a small group into the high country of the Beartooth and Northern Absaroka Mountains. The trekkers learn backpacking, low-impact camping, and wilderness cooking skills. The Trek climaxes with three days of technical rock climbing and ascents.
