University of Pennsylvania summer programs are for high school students who are serious about their academic careers. Students will gain insight into the field they are studying through a variety of ways including lectures, field trips, and hands-on experience. Students come from over 40 countries and experience academic and residential life at the University of Pennsylvania. Students get the unique opportunity to discover their passions, learn from some of the best teachers in their industry, and get a head start on their academic futures.
Penn Medicine: This pre-college medical camp is designed to expose students to the fascinating world of modern medicine. Students learn at the Perelman School of Medicine at UPenn. The course features lectures, demonstrations, discussions, hands-on sessions, and field excursions. Students will get the opportunity to experience several different medical careers and get an in-depth perspective on what it takes to become a doctor. Penn Law: Over four weeks students experience the Socratic Method, visit law firms and court rooms, craft persuasive arguments and develop leadership skills through collaborative teamwork. High School students will discover what law school is like, learn what it means to be a lawyer and gain a better understanding of laws and their role in modern society. Students also have trips to area law firms, courts, and corporate legal departments to help students gain insight into how law is practiced in the real world. There is a seperate staff for residential life. This staff is responsible for students outside of class, residential counselors are responsible for social life, entertainment, evening activities, and weekend trips.
