We Build Strong Kids
The YMCA's goal is to build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. Camp Mason helps kids become strong so they can grow up to be healthy and productive adults.
Our Staff Are Positive Role Models
YMCA Camp Mason is committed to providing a safe and positive experience for your child. We interview, check backgrounds, select, and train staff who are mature, skilled, and responsible.
Cabin Groups Are Safe & Supportive
Campers are grouped together by gender and grade level to provide optimal living and learning experiences in a safe and supportive environment. Cabins have 8-12 campers with at least 2 experienced counselors.
Medical Supervision: On-Site 24 Hours
Our Medical Director is a Registered Nurse who resides at camp. A local physician is on-call during the summer, while our staff provides on-site care from the Wellness Center.
Campers Have Fun and Make Friends
Campers build independence by choosing afternoon activities that fit their interest. Morning activities are planned and enjoyed by cabin groups to provide well-rounded experiences and establish friendships. All-camp activities bring the entire community together to celebrate events, shares successes, or appreciate talents.

YMCA Camp Mason is a summer camp and year-round outdoor education & conference center. Founded in 1900, our programs and facilities have grown tremendously since that time. Located in northwestern New Jersey in Hardwick Township, Camp Mason serves more than 11,000 children, adults, and families annually.
Camp Mason’s resident summer camp provides leadership, facilities, and high quality programming in a unique outdoor natural setting. We work with children to help them recognize their talents and to promote their development. We work in groups that focus on cooperative and social interaction by teaching a wide variety of skills through activities that are safe and fun. We work outdoors to reinforce the connection we all have to the world around us. We work each and every day to instill the YMCA core values of honesty, respect, caring, and responsibility. Our mission is to build the kind of character in each child that will help them succeed in life through self-enrichment and contribution to others. We do this by providing the kind of positive experience—a Camp Mason experience—that literally lasts a lifetime.
