Greetings from Camp Buckskin! We are an overnight summer camp program that specializes in serving boys and girls ages 6 - 18 who are experiencing social skill and academic difficulties. While not an entrance requirement, the majority of our campers have a primary diagnosis of AD/HD, Learning Disabilities, or Aspergers while others may have a secondary or related diagnosis. In addition, a significant number of our campers are adopted. While these diagnoses can serve to help identify these individuals, our campers have the same social, educational, and emotional needs as everyone else.
The Buckskin program utilizes the summer break in a camp setting to address these areas of need. Camp Buckskin can provide a valuable supplement to the efforts of the parents and school as do doctors, therapists, tutors, and others. Since our start in 1959, more than 8,000 children have benefited from our therapeutic program. Our campers have experienced a great deal of personal growth and development as reported by those who know them best-- their parents, teachers, and other involved professionals.
