SuperCamp is an exciting 10-day summer program of nonstop work and play, learning and growing, and classes and outdoor challenges. Founded in 1982, it is based on accelerated learning techniques, positive peer support, and carefully orchestrated environmental factors that make the learning process fun and easy.

In 2009, SuperCamp will be held at four locations on the West Coast - Stanford, Claremont Colleges and Cal State San Marcos in California and the University of Washington in Seattle - as well as four other locations nationwide. SuperCamp will also be offered abroad in 2009, in the beautiful village of Leysin in Switzerland.

SuperCamp provides a diverse range of academic enrichment and personal development courses. The academic offering focuses on reading skills, memory techniques, test taking, SAT/ACT prep, study skills, writing, and problem solving. Personal development activities concentration building confidence and self-esteem, increasing motivation, and enhancing skills communicating with parents, peers, and teachers.

Camp Facilities
SuperCamp's academic summer camps are held at eight great colleges around the country, from Stanford University just south of San Francisco to Cornell University in New York. No matter which campus you choose, you can be assured that your student will have access to all of the finest amenities each school has to offer. Campers sleep in the dorms, eat meals in the cafeteria, participate in learning and life skills courses in actual classrooms, and relax and enjoy free time in the campus recreation buildings and courtyards.
Camp Staff
Parents think as highly of our SuperCamp staff as their kids and we do. And with good reason. The people we hire are enthusiastic, supportive and committed to positively impacting lives. The great majority of the camp's staff are Education majors or graduates. Not surprisingly, most of the staff return year after year because they enjoy the experience of working with successful people in a dynamic accelerated learning program.

Facilitators, the most visible leaders at SuperCamp, are chosen from among the top professional teachers and trainers in the country. Hundreds of applicants go through our selection process and only a few are chosen to train with SuperCamp. Many of our Facilitators have advanced degrees and, more importantly, all have a natural ability to engage every student and bring out their personal greatness. Facilitators receive 200-300 hours of on-site training in Quantum Learning methods before they direct the summer camp program.

The student to staff ratio is at least four-to-one. Students are assigned to teams, headed by two team leaders. Among other responsibilities, team leaders help supervise and support the students and are assigned to the same residence halls, providing 24-hour assistance.
Camp FAQs

Who attends SuperCamp?
Our participants are similar to those in a typical classroom. While students' grades range from straight A's to failing, the majority are somewhere in between. We believe everyone possesses enormous potential and can be successful in school and in life, if given the tools and confidence to learn and grow. High achievers tell us they appreciate having skills that reduce their study time, refine communication strategies, and life skills that enhance their relationships. Students who are struggling due to low motivation, self-esteem and/or poor grades will discover new techniques to help them hurdle the barriers that blocked their progress in the past.

How do you achieve such great results in just 10 days?
Unlike most summer camp programs, we have the students 24/10, twenty-four hours a day for ten days in an orchestrated learning environment that uses a very specific design frame. A prime directive of SuperCamp is that we seek to get into the students' world and understand them, which builds trust and earns us the right to teach. Throughout the ten days, we build on mini-successes, so by day the end of the camp we are celebrating the students' successes.

What are the backgrounds and experience of the SuperCamp staff?
Parents think as highly of our SuperCamp staff as their kids and we do. And with good reason. The people we hire are enthusiastic, supportive and committed to positively impacting lives. The great majority of them are Education majors or graduates. Not surprisingly, most of the staff return year after year because they enjoy the experience of working with successful people in a dynamic accelerated learning program. Facilitators, the most visible leaders at SuperCamp, are chosen from among the top professional teachers and trainers in the country. Facilitators receive 200-300 hours of on-site training in Quantum Learning methods before they direct a SuperCamp program.

How can SuperCamp help in college preparation?
SuperCamp helps in college preparation in several ways. First is the experience of living away from home in a collegiate setting. Second, we focus on the process of assuming responsibility and accountability in one's life, as well as honing study and learning skills and mastery of tests (including the SAT). Additionally, students have written about what they learned about themselves at SuperCamp on college essays. Also, Quantum U is our 8-day "college boot camp" program specifically for incoming college freshmen. It is held only at Colorado College and is restricted to just 80 students from around the country. At Quantum U, high school grads sharpen key college-level learning skills, while gaining knowledge in such areas as time management, money management, leadership, team building, and communication.
