- Teens learn how video games are created in the $13 billion industry by experiencing the process first hand.
- Teens learn valuable creative and technical skills using industry standard game design software including 3D Studio Max.
- Teens experience teamwork, milestones and deadlines by selecting a role on a development team and working collaboratively to build a playable video game using a customized Design Document.
- Teens gain presentation skills as they present their game to a panel of game industry experts for review and critique.
- Teens see the pros in action on a tour of a game development studio.
- Teens learn about the industry and building video games from guest speakers.
- It’s the perfect pre-college experience for teens who are serious about game design and may be considering a career or degree program in digital media.
Located on beautiful suburban college campuses, participants live in air-conditioned dorms.
Instructors are recent graduate and students completing degrees in video game design or computer science at leading universities. There are six participants per Instructor. Instructors are the Lead Designers on the Development Team. Inside Gaming at night includes instructors as well as top executives of local video game companies.The hiring process involves detailed applications and multiple interviews with Emagination executives, reference checks and background checks.
