Cody is an American Camp Association accredited summer camp that provides children with a safe, fun atmosphere to make new friends and enjoy new experiences.   Our 3:1 camper-to-counselor ratio is amongst the lowest of any camp and allows us to provide each camper with the utmost individual attention. We’re a smaller camp and a perfect fit for a first-time camper.

Cody offers a wide variety of activities and trips taught and lead by college athletes, coaches and seasoned educators. With a guided-choice program and over 25 activities offered daily, campers hone their favorite skills and develop new ones.

For three generations, Cody has been proud to offer quality summer camp experiences to children all over the country and world. We appreciate your interest in Cody and look forward to hearing from you.

Camp FAQs

What is Cody's philosophy?
Our mission is to offer boys and girls experiences rich in fun, friendship, learning, and adventure. To facilitate this our program goals include: offering children a traditional camping experience; providing campers and staff with the opportunity to live, learn, and grow in a safe, supportive community; to increase self-esteem and social skills; and encourage respect for themselves, others, and their surroundings.

What is the camp director’s background?
Excutive Director: Philip Ross has been at Cody for twenty seven years with twenty two of those years serving as Cody's Director. Originally from Britain, Philip is a graduate of Edinburgh University. He personally supervises key areas of the camp and works closely with all campers, staff and Cody parents. Director: Nick Robbins has been with Cody for four summers now. Originally from Colorado, Nick has spent much of his life working with young people in and around the great outdoors, primarily leading backpacking and rock climbing trips and programs. He is a graduate of the Colorado College. It is his personal goal to assure the highest quality of experience for campers who attend Cody, from before they get here to after they leave.

What is the site like?
We have nearly one hundred acres of naturally wooded property and a mile of superb sandy shore-frontage on Lake Ossipee. Our lake is four miles long and two miles wide with a natural sand bottom and is warm and clear. Our Lakes Region/National Forest setting is secluded and magnificent.

What facilities do you have at Cody?
With millions dollar invested in the last decade alone, Cody provides campers with one of the best equipped summer camps in the country. All our buildings are either new, or have recently undergone major expansion and refinishing. Within activity departments equipment is constantly updated to keep it "state-of-the-art". Our major buildings include: a large office building with a camp store and library, a large recreation hall with stage, weights room, fully operating kitchen, a large all-camp lodge, staff lounge, fully equipped medical infirmary, laundry hut, woodshop, darkroom, shower house (in addition to showers in many cabins); nature center, fully equipped maintenance building, and assorted storage buildings. Our fields and courts comprise: a baseball diamond, soccer field, and football field. We have a sand volleyball court, one street hockey arena (floodlit), and a full NHL size roller hockey arena, a 5-aside soccer arena (floodlit), one floodlit basketball court and seven tennis courts (four floodlit). Cody also has a large modern rifle range and a large archery range. For maximum safety, we have separate elaborate and fully equipped swimming and boating areas. For example, we teach water-skiing with modern water-ski boats equipped with marine-radios for additional safety and communication. We have over 40 boats at our waterfront, giving us one of the biggest and best fleets of any camp on the east coast!

Where will my child live?
We have thirty-two cabins for campers and staff, each with electricity, bathrooms and cubbies/lockers for belongings, and many with showers. We usually house six to eight campers and two or three adult counselors per cabin, although some of the larger cabins may have slightly a slightly larger group. Campers live in cabins with children of the same age, and who attend camp for the same time period. For example, if a camper is with us for four weeks, (with very few exceptions) all other campers in his/her cabin also attends for four weeks.
