Brown Ledge is located on beautiful Lake Champlain, just north of Burlington, Vermont, the perfect venue for its multi-faceted program. Campers live in attractive log cabin type buildings, each with a view of the lake. All meals are prepared using quality ingredients to meet a variety of diets, and served family style in the Brown Ledge dining room & lodge. In addition Brown Ledge offers a stable of 40 horses, outdoor riding arenas, a theatre with proscenium stage and arena presenting 3 plays weekly, archery & riflery ranges, 5 clay tennis courts, an arts & crafts shop, and a wonderful waterfront equiped to teach swimming, (including competitive and synchronized) sailing, windsurfing, competitive diving, waterskiing, wakeboarding, canoeing and kayaking.
Brown Ledge has approximately 84 staff, talented women & men, of whom about 65 are instructors, each specializing in only one activity. Staff have a variety of backgrounds, interests and personalities, and hail from all over the United States plus Canada, Europe, and Australia. They range in age from 19 to 70 +, with an average age of about 27 years old. Many staff have been at BLC for and extended period (10 to 30 years, or more) offering leadership and continuity. Brown Ledge staff of all ages share a spirited enjoyment of teaching at camp.
